All persons summoned for jury duty in the 13th Judicial District must complete the jury questionnaire.
If you are 75 years of age or older you can be permanently excused from jury duty by completing an Affidavit of Age available on this website (click here), or by obtaining it from the jury clerk at the courthouse.
All persons summoned for jury duty in the 13th Judicial District, who have not been excused, must participate in jury duty orientation.
In order to accommodate the schedules of potential jurors, jury duty orientation can be completed three different ways:
NOTE: If you do not submit an affidavit of viewing the video or reading the transcript before the date of the jury orientation at the district court, YOU MUST ATTEND THE ORIENTATION IN PERSON.
If you attend jury orientation in person, a jury handbook and information about how to determine if you are to appear for jury duty is provided.
If you prefer to do jury orientation by video or transcript, the jury handbook for the county in which you are summoned for jury duty is available on this website.
Whether you submit an affidavit by email or attend jury orientation in person, a jury duty panel number will be assigned to you. This panel number is used every week to determine if your jury panel has been called for jury duty. To determine if you must report for jury duty, you can use this website to access the jury duty panel EVERY FRIDAY after 5:00 p.m. for the county where you have been oriented for jury duty to determine if your panel number must report for jury duty. You can also call the jury duty telephone number EVERY FRIDAY after 5:00 p.m. to determine if your panel number must report for jury duty. The telephone number is 505-867-2376, option 4.
REMEMBER, do a final check of your jury duty status the night before, or the morning of, the day you are asked to report for jury duty. Occasionally, a trial may be cancelled and your attendance as a potential juror is not required that day. You can check either on the website or by telephone to the number listed above.
