Jury Orientation - Sandoval County

All persons summoned for jury duty in the 13th Judicial District, Sandoval County, must complete the jury questionnaire which was mailed with your summons.

If you are 75 years of age or older you can be permanently excused from jury duty by completing an Affidavit of Age available on this website, or by obtaining it from the jury clerk at the courthouse.

All persons summoned for jury duty in the 13th Judicial District, who have not been excused, must participate in online jury duty orientation. If you do not have access to the internet you must call the Sandoval County District Court Clerk’s Office at 505-867-2376, ext. 1110 and request a copy of the orientation materials be sent to you.

In order to accommodate potential jurors, jury duty orientation can be completed three different ways:

1. You must view (Unfortunately this option is not yet available; so please proceed with either item 2 or 3 below) the Petit Jury Orientation video online before the deadline written on your summons, complete the online Affidavit and submit by email, stating that you have watched the video and understand your obligations (see the link at the bottom of this page); or,

2. You can read the jury duty orientation video transcript before the deadline written on your summons, complete the online Affidavit and submit by email, stating that you have watched the video and understand your obligations (see the link at the bottom of this page)

3. If you do not have access to the internet you must call the District Court Clerk’s Office before the deadline written on your summons and request a copy of the orientation materials be sent to you.

NOTE: There is no in-person orientation.

The Jury Handbook is specific for the county in which you are summoned for jury duty.

All jurors summoned in Sandoval County have the panel number on their summons. This panel number is used every week to determine if your jury panel has been called for jury duty. To determine if you must report for jury duty, you can use this website to access the jury duty panel for the county where you have been oriented for jury duty to determine if your panel number must report for jury duty. You can also call the jury duty telephone number EVERY FRIDAY after 5:00 p.m. to determine if your panel number must report for jury duty. The telephone number is 505-867-2376, ext. 1110.

 REMEMBER, do a final check of your jury duty status the night before, or the morning of, the day you are asked to report for jury duty. Occasionally, a trial may be cancelled and your attendance as a potential juror is not required that day. You can check either on the website or by telephone to the number listed above.
